A national award-winning designer, Amy Yin has been sketching floor plans since she was six. With a BA from Wellesley College and an MBA from The Wharton School, she enjoyed a successful business career in financial services. But when her father suffered a life-altering stroke, Amy moved back to her hometown. During daily visits to the rehabilitation hospital, she witnessed how a person’s environment could be a source of frustration and embarrassment, and how well-designed spaces could improve a person’s safety, comfort, and even outlook on life. When it was finally time for her father to move home, she helped modify it to accommodate her parents’ needs.
Returning to NJ, Amy decided to make the leap to a career in interior design. Her first step was to enroll in a full complement of studio courses at The Parsons School of Design in New York City. Today, she is the proud owner of a highly respected Short Hills, NJ interior design studio that has donated over $100,000 to date. Amy is married with two children, and lives in Short Hills. She still loves to sketch floor plans.
